In 2018-2019 3M plans to invest an additional USD 5.5 million. in the development of industrial complexes of the company in Volokolamsk and SEZ "Alabuga". 3M is going to start production of new materials and to increase the share of Russian products exported to the European Union and the European economic area.

In 2018, the 3M company intends to invest $ 1.4 million. in the development of production in Alabuga. In accordance with the strategic plans of the company 3M at the global level, the decision was made to transfer production facilities of one of the complexes 3M in England (Northallerton) at the 3M plant in the SEZ “potential”. This will allow to widen the range of liquid anti-corrosion coatings for the oil and gas industry of Russia and CIS countries.

- Polyurethane anti-corrosion coating for “earth-air" gas distribution pipelines 3M™ Scotchkote™ 352;
- Internal flow fast setting epoxy 3M™ Scotchkote™ 2306 SF.
Production line design capacity of 2.5 million liters per year in the near future to fully provide the Russian market with products of local production. It is expected that about 30% of all produced at the plant products will be exported worldwide. The first commercial batch is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2018.

the Company intends to submit a new local development – helmet mining 3M™ Airstream™, modified specially by request of Russian enterprises. It provides comprehensive protection for head, eyes and breath worker. On this project the Russian engineers at 3M for more than two years working with colleagues from the USA, Poland, UK and Australia. Today the project is in the final stage, this year it is expected the shipments to the Russian market. In addition, in 2018, will launch the production of films for traffic signs of all kinds (cutting films). These products will also be exported to the CIS countries.
The company increases the share of consumer goods produced in Russia as in our own factory in Volokolamsk, and in the factories of partners. Over the past five years the share of locally manufactured products increased by 40%. Among all manufacturers, only the 3M company locally produces goods in the category of a post. The 3M stickers can be found in the offices of major companies such as the Raiffeisen Bank, Unilever, Huawei, Transneft, MTS. 3M increases the production and marketing of products for the home. Napkins for the kitchen of a domestic production under the brand Scotch-Brite® are manufactured at the plant of the subcontractor and submitted to the networks X5, Metro C&C, Lenta, O’Kay and others.
