At Leningrad NPP-2 early welded circulation pipeline

At the Leningrad NPP-2 due to the introduction of new equipment and the use of wiper brushes Lessmann completed ahead of time the welding of the main circulation pipeline (LTC) unit 1, launched in October 2014. This was reported by news portal Energy and industry of Russia.

Work on the implementation of TPP operations took place ahead of schedule. In just 109 days instead of 140 designated on schedule. 

"Were conducted all appropriate types of non-destructive testing of welded joints (visual, measurement, radiographic, liquid penetrant and ultrasonic), reported a high quality of performance of each individual junction", - explained the head of the Department of non-destructive testing of metals and technical control of the Leningrad NPP-2 Dennis Schnell. 

"Has Been improved technology: welding was carried out simultaneously on the four joints. The completion of the welding MTC will give the start of works on installation of systems for Strait on rasuplotnenie reactor", - said the Director of the Leningrad NPP-2 Yuri Malanchuk. 

The Main circulation pipeline, with a total length of more than 160 meters, connects the main primary circuit equipment: reactor, steam generators and main circulation pumps. MTC is designed to circulate the coolant, the cooling of the active zone, and heat transfer to the steam generators.
