3M goes online sales in the automotive aftermarket

Over the past year, clients had the opportunity to buy products for trade not only among dealers, but also in the online channel of retail partners. This has increased the availability of products to end users, which is especially important for clients With – garage garage type.

So, in 2018, more than 13% of the consumer market segment (garages and workshops) has taken on the company's products. The most popular product of online buyers turned out to be one-step polishing paste. This unique development of Russian engineers 3M was launched on the market in November 2017. Today the sale of a one-step paste show strong growth, it found its niche in the segment among car enthusiasts and professionals who need a versatile and easy-to-use solution.

3M has announced the expansion of the range of Cubitron II abrasives at the end of 2018, adding to its abrasive and strips of 3M™ Cubitron™ II is in the subtle gradations of 240 + and 320+. Previously the most subtle gradation in the line was a gradation of 220+. Today, these abrasive materials present in all market segments are used for a wide range of body work: from Stripping the old paint from the surface of the material to preparation of new parts prior to painting. Multipilot efficiently removes the dust from the treated area, thereby enhancing the accuracy of surface treatment. This task is particularly important when working with fine grades of abrasives, which causes increased dust formation. 

within the client support team of business solutions for trade 3M conducts demonstrations of applications of products throughout Russia, some 800 demonstrations per month, which allows customers to practice to see the benefits of the use of abrasive materials 3M™ Cubitron™ II, and polishing pastes 3M.  For example, the advantage of abrasive wheels 3M™ Cubitron™ II size of 150 mm gradation of 320+ during a two-minute test is between 117% to 148%. A new generation paste abrasive polishing paste 51815 Fact Cut Plus Extreme, it allows to increase the removal rate risks up to 30% on all types of paintwork.

In 2018, the company 3M has launched a loyalty program called "Acceleration with 3M!”. The program was attended by about 700 companies, the participants appreciated the format of the program and the attractiveness of the prizes. This year the company plans to continue the program, mechanics will remain the same, the changes will affect the prize part. The program launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019.

In 2019, the 3M company is planning to further develop an area of specialized retail, retail Internet sales, conduct loyalty programs for customers.
